President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the family of a Guard member killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He added that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Tragic Incident

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Memorials across the state have been held in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The president said he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president told reporters. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Response

Community members came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to aid law enforcement in Washington DC.

Honoring the Soldier

“She was the kind of student that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s previous school, told the Associated Press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Service plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of homicide and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the government to suspend refugee claims and cease granting visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor the governor stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi stated on a news show that she also intended to visit the family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with distinction, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had fortitude,” the governor informed the gathering at the service. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
