Red Bull has revealed significant changes for the 2026 Formula 1 season, promoting Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its main squad and giving 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his debut F1 drive. Lindblad, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be team-mate to New Zealander Liam Lawson at the second team Racing Bulls. This driver musical chairs sees Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat post a half-decade in F1. Who is Arvid Lindblad? Arvid Lindblad took part in FP1 for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix this year. The youngster was identified as a rising talent by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Discussing the company's junior academy, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", praising his "pure speed". Red Bull has had a plan since last year to ready Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring appearances in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races. Lindblad stated it was a "huge honour", commenting: "2026 will be a big challenge, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm eager to collaborate with the team and step up. I am incredibly excited to get started." Lindblad has taken a couple of victories in F2 this year and is sixth in the championship heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi. Hadjar's Big Break The French driver celebrates his first podium in F1, secured at the Zandvoort race this season. Hadjar's F1 career started on a low note when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. However, since then, he has emerged as one of the most impressive newcomers this season. He included an remarkable podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the championship. A senior team figure commented: "Isack has displayed great maturity and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Most importantly, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can succeed next to Max." Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "ready". The Lawson Decision To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson over Tsunoda. Lawson started 2025 with the senior squad but was demoted after just two races. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with some strong performances, persuading Red Bull he merits more time. Tsunoda, in contrast, loses his place after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a P6, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's points total. The driver market moves mean that there remains no place on the Red Bull academy for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
